2008 Mercedes SLK-350 Roadster
Introduced in 1998 as an answer to the BMW Z3 and Porsche Boxster in the premium small roadster segment, the SLK's most unique feature was its retractable hardtop roof, which offered more security as well as a quieter ride than its competitors' soft tops. 2009 Lincoln MKS

The MKS comes in both front-drive and all-wheel-drive versions and it’s powered by a new and more fuel-efficient 3.7-litre V6 engine that’s unique to Lincoln. It’s a four-valve per cylinder engine with variable valve timing that can deliver 273 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque on regular-grade fuel.

Majorca, Spain - You simply can’t have enough of a good thing, especially if it’s an Audi. The A4 was recently voted the 2009 Best New Luxury Vehicle in Canada by members of AJAC. Last month, Audi gave auto writers their first drive in its even more athletic sibling the new Audi S4.
While they look alike, the faster and more agile S4 and S4 Avant, its wagon-bodied edition, are the gifted jocks in the A4 family. A new supercharged V6 engine replaces the outgoing V8, plus Audi also has come up with new and clever ways to convert power into rapid, yet very stable, vehicle motion.
The new 3.0-litre TFSI engine combines direct fuel injection with a low-pressure supercharger. It can produce 333 horsepower, yet fuel consumption is surprisingly low. An official Canadian fuel rating, however, has not yet been established.

Two-seat sports car: Ferrari F430 Scuderia
If you can stomach the price, this is a scary-fast, insanely competent (0 to 60 in 3.5 sec), sexy purebred that makes operatic engine sounds unlike any other. Oh yes, and former Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher was crucial to its development. Purists can argue about the superiority of a mid-engine V-8 Ferrari like the F430 vs. the big front-engine V-12 599 GTB, but my money goes to the playfulness of the mid-engine car. For those who prefer German, the 911 in any guise is unimpeachable, while Audi's R8 is the hottest new entrant. The Corvette, starting at $46,1000, is still the best deal around..

The 2008 5-Series starts at just under $45,000 for the sedan and $54,000 for the sports wagon.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The redesigned, fourth-generation C-Class sedan is all-new for 2008. Edgier and larger than its predecessor, the new C-Class is nearly four inches longer and two inches wider, with a wheelbase lengthened nearly two inches. Engines are carryovers, but a new all-wheel-drive system will be available with an automatic transmission in the C300 Sport and C300 Luxury trims. Prices for a 2008 C-Class start at just over $31,000.
Infiniti G35
The Infiniti G midsize luxury car is available as a sedan or coupe (G37). Beyond the extra doors, the G35 sedan is four inches longer and more than two inches taller than the coupe. The sportier-looking G37 is wider, however, and comes standard with 18-inch wheels and a 330-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine — 24 more horses than the sedan. According to Consumer Reports, the G35 is their top-rated upscale sedan, with an overall score of 92.
Acura TL
Unlike many of its rivals, the TL has a front-wheel-drive layout. Though hard-core enthusiasts may bemoan the lack of rear-wheel drive, the TL provides much luxury and space for its sticker price. The front-wheel-drive chassis provides for a roomy interior, which is fitted with a host of comfort and convenience features. In addition to lots of standard equipment, "the agile TL is fun to drive, especially in Type-S form," said MSN Autos reviewer Dan Jedlicka.
